The extended Family of VM.  In her twelfth year, her mother married Nunasu, who was a Nigerian. Her sister, Akwe, was born in 1960, when Vaughan was 15, and the family emigrated in 1963, to Ibadan, Nigeria. VM did not go with them but made several visits. Her experiences of the University of Ibadan, Yoruba culture, and the tropical landscapes made a lasting impression. 

 

The Family Bricks (2016 -18) have been a means of integrating and clarifying her complex family history
